The addition of UPS Ground Tracking has required changes to the upsbook
and history records. You MUST have NO record present in the current upsbook.
At the end of the day, AFTER you have finalized the upsbook you can perform
the upgrade.
Upgrading to UPSBOOK 3.0
1. Make a backup of all information contained in you UPSBOOK directory.
2. Delete the UPSBOOK.DAT file.
3. Run BTRIEVE, if necessary - This will load a TSR program to access the
data files. If will be unloaded, if necessary, when you run UPSBOOK.
4. Run CVTHIST2.
5. Delete the OUPSHIST.DAT file.
6. Delete CVTHIST2.EXE file.
7. Enter the current UPS charge for Ground Tracking.
a. The charge is the difference 1 pound for zone 2 ups groundtrac and
1 pound for zone 2 regular ground service. On the current chart this
would be $2.83 - $2.08 = $.75
b. Start the UPSBOOK program and select CHARTS on the bar menu, then select
Additional Rates Chart from the pulldown menu. Press return until you
reach the GROUND TRACK line. Clear the line if necessary, then enter
the current rate you just calculated.

upsbook and history records. You MUST have NO record present in the current
upsbook. At the end of the day, AFTER you have finalized the upsbook you can
perform the upgrade.
Upgrading to UPSBOOK 3.1
1. Make a backup of all information contained in you UPSBOOK directory.
2. Delete the UPSBOOK.DAT file.
3. Run BTRIEVE, if necessary - This will load a TSR program to access the
data files. If will be unloaded, if necessary, when you run UPSBOOK.
4. Run CVTHIST3.
5. Delete the OUPSHIST.DAT file.
6. Delete CVTHIST3.EXE file.
The upgrade is now complete and you can use the program just the same as
usual with addition of Ground Tracking and Alternate Control Numbers.
Upgrading to UPSBOOK 3.2
1. Select Charts from the Main Menu Bar.
2. Select Additional Rate Chart/Setup from the pulldown menu.
3. Answer the Pkg ID on COD Y if you want the package id number printed on
COD tags. NOTE: THIS IS ALMOST ALWAYS YES!!
4. Answer the Print Shipper Y if you want your address to be printed on
shipping labels. NOTE: THIS IS YES IF YOU ARE USING THE QUILL
LABELS.
5. Answer the Lines High with the number of printed lines on your shipping
label. There are 10 lines per inch. The Quill label is 18.
6. Answer the Start Line with the line you wish to start printing on. If
you are using the Quill label, in most cases you will select 1.
5 & 6 will require some playing around with to get correct. The original
values were 18 and 1.
NOTE:F8 can be used from the non-pulled menu bar to quickly enter new
entries.
The upgrade is now complete.
Upgrading to UPSBOOK 3.3
1. Make a backup of all information contained in you UPSBOOK directory.
2. Delete the UPSBOOK.DAT file.
3. Run BTRIEVE, if necessary - This will load a TSR program to access the
data files. If will be unloaded, if necessary, when you run UPSBOOK.
4. Run CVTHIST4.
5. Delete the OUPSHIST.DAT file.
6. Delete CVTHIST4.EXE file.
Upgrading to UPSBOOK 4.0
1. Make a backup of all information contained in you UPSBOOK directory.
2. Do a print screen of all SHIPPER INFORMATION and ADDITIONAL RATES
CHART info. All shipper information has been moved to a seperate
file!!!
3. Make sure that there are no entries in your current, to be shipped
UPSBOOK. You should have an empty screen when you boot the program.
4. Type BTRIEVE to start the Btrieve TSR program.
5. Run CVTHIST5.
6. Delete CVTHIST5.EXE file.
7. Run UPSBOOK and enter all SHIPPER INFORMATION and ADDITIONAL RATES
CHART info. There are two separate places where you will need to
enter information.
The upgrade is now complete and you can use the program just the same as
usual.
